Students across Pakistan have a fresh opportunity to apply for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme (PMYLS) 2025, as the federal government has extended the registration deadline and simplified the application procedure. Latest Update

In a key development, the application deadline has been extended to June 1, 2025. The decision was made during a high-level meeting led by Federal Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, with input from provincial representatives. The revised instructions aim to simplify the application steps and encourage more students to apply.

As part of the first phase, 100,000 laptops will be distributed based on academic merit. The government has also hinted at expanding the scheme to 500,000 laptops in future phases.

Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for a laptop under PMYLS 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Institution Type: Must be enrolled at a public sector university or college in Pakistan, including those located in FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, and AJK.
Academic Record: Minimum 3.0 CGPA (or 70% marks for the annual system).
Program Level: Students pursuing BS, Master’s, MPhil, or PhD are eligible.
ID Requirement: A valid CNIC or B-Form is compulsory.
